THE AWARD CATEGORIES

SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainability is critical to the success of future businesses and at the core of driving prosperity and providing the freedom to move. We are committed to conducting business responsibly and are engaged in the UN Global Compact to implement universal sustainability principles and support the Sustainable Development Goals to build a more sustainable future.

In this category we are looking for startups committed to building a responsible business and working towards a more sustainable future for this industry.

The MobilityXlab Future Mobility Awards for outstanding achievement in the highest standard of sustainability is awarded by Volvo Group and Volvo Cars.

The nominees are: Teraloop & Celcibus

AI FOR SAFETY

In this industry working with safety is crucial and finding new methods and technologies to do so is beyond important.

This award is aimed for companies developing mobility solutions on a technology platform of Machine Learning with focus on improving safety and trust of the products. Mobility solutions are broadly defined and include applications such as driver support, smart infrastructures, autonomous vehicles, traffic planning, sharing economy solutions for mobility, cyber security, and data management.

The MobilityXlab Future Mobility Awards for outstanding achievement in the highest standard of AI for Safety is awarded by Veoneer and Zenseact (former Zenuity).

The nominees are: Reality AI & SafeMode

CONNECTIVITY

The automotive industry of the future has the potential to be unrecognizable compared to today. One of the key pillars underpinning this transformation is increasing connectivity.

Mobile communication in vehicles increases in importance as new services emerge, such as automated and intelligent driving and the creation and distribution of advanced maps with real-time data for instance. Also, features such as advanced driving assistance using cloud-based analytics are all examples of emerging services that require vehicles to be connected to a cloud. Therefore we are looking for startups in these fields to apply for this award.

The MobilityXlab Future Mobility Awards for outstanding achievement in the highest standard of connectivity is awarded by CEVT and Ericsson.

The nominees are: Enervibe & CloudBackend

VIRTUAL DEVELOPMENT

Advances in AI, Connectivity, and Sustainability, are leading to dramatic increases in complexity of systems and software, and the need to work with vastly increased volumes of data. This is reflected in the continued shift to software-centric development.

To meet these demands, whilst facing continued shortened time to market and development cost pressures, new innovative development processes are required. This award recognises projects where data, modelling and simulation are used in innovative ways to accelerate the pace of design, implementation, and testing of products.

Judges will be particularly interested in submissions that demonstrate innovation in:

  • Automating and enhancing the execution of complex and demanding tasks

  • Use of data analytics and machine learning to drive new features and services

  • Use of models and virtual prototypes to tackle systems and software challenges

  • Virtual verification techniques to increase safety

The MobilityXlab Future Mobility Awards for outstanding achievement in the highest standard of Virtual Development is awarded by MathWorks.

The nominees are: SiaSearch & CEMWorks
